Engage

Engagement is the starting point of the Challenge-Based Learning – the moment when learners connect the topic to something real, meaningful and worth solving. Instead of beginning with theory, students begin with a big idea and explore why it matters.

Engage

Students move from curiosity to a clear direction.

They ask essential questions, surface assumptions, and start noticing what they do not yet know. Teachers act as facilitators: they spark interest, guide students to narrow the focus into a specific, actionable challenge connected to real stakeholders.

Engagement sets the conditions for quality teamwork

Students define initial goals, agree on roles and collaboration norms and decide how they will document learning. By the end, the group should share understanding of the challenge, why it matters, who it affects and what success could look like.
